Management Development Training Unit of Western Province
Management Development Training unit of the Western Province is the main institution which takes action to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the officers engaged in Western Provincial Public service.
Management Development Training unit of the Western Province, which was established as per Public Administration Circular No 12/90 and developed under Public Administration Circular No 14/90 and 10/2001, is established at the office of the Chief Secretary of Western Province. This Unit, which provide training to more than 5000 officers annually conducting more than 150 training programmes, is dedicated to provide necessary directions to ensure more efficient and effective service from the staff engaged in Western Provincial Public Service introducing new training programmes every year.
Our Tasks
- Identifying the training needs of the whole staff ,planning and conducting such programmes
- Providing allocations for officers ,who are directed to Information Technology Institutes for obtaining knowledge on information technology
- Providing financial facilities for enhancement of the proficiency in languages
- Providing allocations to officers ,who are directed to external institutions for essential training programmes, which are not covered by Management Development Training unit of the Western Province
- Providing allocations for diplomas and post graduate programmes
- Providing allocations to Ministries and Departments for special training programmes
- Facilitating for foreign scholarships
